[EN] The ion exchange chromatography is the most widely used method for chromatographic protein purification. Two of these proteins that might be separated with this technique are Bovine from Serum Albumin and Myoglobin from Horse Squeletal Muscle. These two proteins have different relevance and different industrial applications. To study the possibility of separation of these proteins both together in the same solution, it has been used a continuous system with an ion-exchange column, a pump, a valve and a UV-sensor. Before performing experiments with the proteins, solutions of salt and eluent are used to characterize the column. This means to calculate the porosity and the capacity of the chromatography column. To prove the possibility of separation of both proteins together, it is necessary to make first experiments with the proteins separately. This way, it can be studied the way each protein is adsorbed in its own. Then, experiments with both proteins together must be done.
