dc.description.abstract | [EN] Water is a vital resource in our lives, it is an essential priority to move it from one place to another to satisfy human necessities. These types of necessities are varied. The objective of the thesis will be focused on the Third World. Many villages of Africa have not the suitable technologies to irrigate theirs cultivations. Having a river or lake close to the village is a difficult task to get sufficient amount of water to irrigate the lands. Research carried out in some African countries show that by using hydraulic pumps the farmers may increase the land to irrigate, to reduce the time of working compared to the irrigation by bucket, to improve the harvest quality, to promote the cultivation growth and to increase the number of harvest cycles. The design of the suitable hydraulic pump to transport water from a flooded area to the cultivation may facility the live of thousands of people. The objective is to design a free standing portable pump, thereby being possible to irrigate different villages moving the pump from one place to another. It can be easily transported lifted in a tractor trailer and the bedplate will have a free standing design, therefore being not necessary to screw it on the trailer or on the flat land, making faster the transport. Economic and efficiency aspects will be taken into account, therefore because of the aim of the thesis the materials and accessories will be chosen as economic as possible trying to achieve the best efficiency. Others aspects such as flow rate or pressure head will be selected according to the conditions of the irrigation and necessities of the villages. | es_ES |
