dc.description.abstract [EN] This project raises the comparison of solar domestic hot water systems in Spain (Valencia) and Czech Republic (Prague). Conditions chosen for the calculations are south orientation and collector¿s inclination of 45°. For those conditions, the annual solar fraction and heat solar gains have been calculated in both cities for the three studied systems (of 4, 10 and 100 people) using the simplified method and the simulation method. Results using the two mentioned methods are quite similar. For the same range, the solar fraction in systems located in Valencia is quite higher than the one obtained in Prague systems. As has been mentioned throughout the project, this fact is due to the higher irradiation in Valencia. When it comes to install a DHW system, must be taken into account that although in both cities the use of external energy (fuel) should be required, the necessary amount in Prague would be considerably higher than the required in Valencia. Therefore, installing a DHW system would allow greater savings in fuel consumption in the case of Valencia, which would mean its sooner amortization. To conclude, it can be said that whilst in Prague the use of the DHW system could be mainly in summer months, in Valencia its use could be extended more months which would suppose that would be more profitable. es_ES
