dc.description.abstract [EN] In accordance with the title, the main object of this project is the research and the later application of reactive iron filters in the groundwater treatment. This project consists of two parts. In the first one laboratory research is performed with a total of sixteen filtration columns to study permeability loss of reactive iron filters in the influent region. The influence of the solutions flowing through each filter, the iron grain size and the gas formation during the corrosion process is determined by means of different experiments. In the second part, using the results obtained in the laboratory research, a permeable reactive barrier for the treatment of contaminated groundwater is designed. es_ES
