El concepto de restauración a través de la estética

Abstract

El presente artículo pretende aportar ideas del campo de la Estética aplicándolas a la práctica de la Restauración con la intención de unir dos disciplinas que comparten el interés por una serie de objetos que requieren una actitud y unos cuidados especiales. Partiendo de ejemplos de intervenciones, la mayoría de ellas sobre el Patrimonio Histórico-Artístico de la Comunidad Valenciana, se analizan los factores que se deben tener en cuenta en cualquier actuación con tal de subrayar la importancia del conocimiento que el restaurador debe tener del objeto que le ha sido prestado y en este sentido se busca la aportación de la Estética. La Estética puede ayudar al restaurador a adquirir profundidad en el análisis de los objetos a la hora de acceder a lo que le está vedado conocer a través de la ciencia y que en muchas ocasiones es la génesis de la significación que estos objetos tan diversos representan para nosotros.

This article intends to contribute some ideas from the field of Aesthetics and apply them to the Restoration practice with the aim of uniting these two disciplines which share a common interest in a series of objects that require special attitude and care. Based on examples of interventions, mostly from Valencia historical-artistic cultural heritage, the essential aspects of the object, which the restorer should take in account in any intervention, are herein analysed through Aesthetics. Aesthetics can help the restorer to perform an in-depth analysis of the objects when it comes to gaining access to what is being prevented from being known through the information that science can offer, and which is often the genesis of the meaning that these varied objects have for us.
