Preliminary design of covered ice hockey rink

[EN] A covered ice hockey rink for recreational and sporting events and entertainment is going to be built in Cracow. Building suitable for this kind of sports events must cover a large area, and it is advisable that the structure does not have any columns inside. A structure without columns inside permits substantial flexibility in distributing the space. This flexibility is an important characteristic, because the building should accommodate the main track and the stands. The building should have a modern appearance and good blend well whit the environment of relatively modern structures. It is important for the citizens to feel identified and attracted to a new social hub of the city quarter. Finally, a sports building must be easily accessible by means of public transport, and have ample parking space nearly, so the citizens would be able to arrive to the edifice in a few minutes. Thus the building will be located near intersection of main thoroughfares will have a very good connection with city's public transport system (regular buses and good roads). Furthermore, this building will have a large area dedicated to parking in order to accommodate a large number of private automobiles.
