dc.description.abstract | This paper constitutes a first approach of the assessment of the ANSYS-CFX code to simulate the TRIGA research reactor. Due to computational limits simplifications of the core and of some other geometrical details have been introduced. Results obtained show that the CFD model for the IPR-R1 TRIGA reproduces the actual steady-state behavior in good agreement. The results described here confirm the efficiency of natural convection in removing the heat produced in the reactor core by nuclear fission. | |
