Concurso para la restauración del palacio del temple en Valencia

Abstract

El proyecto pretende la restauración del edificio y su adecuación como Delegación del Gobierno. La propuesta hace una valoración de conjunto para incidir en una restauración funcionalmente adecuada e históricamente reconocible del edificio. El edificio se compone de dos cuerpos adosados: el claustral y el cuerpo posterior de fachada a la Calle de los Maestres; cuerpos que permiten una lectura diferenciada entre si. Unidos ellos a un tercero, la Iglesia del Temple, con el cual constituyen el conjunto histórico de origen religioso-militar y separado en partes a partir de la desamortización de los bienes de la Iglesia en el S XIX. La intervención se centrará en los dos primeros cuerpos, excepto en parte de la planta baja de lo que hoy ocupa la actual Comisaría de Policía existente con acceso por la Calle de los Maestres La propuesta propone una materialización capaz de ser ejecutada con fidelidad, técnicamente correcta, adecuada al uso previsto y a las necesarias fases de trabajo para prever el mantenimiento de la actividad administrativa y representativa propia del edificio y cuyo resultado sea a la vez reconocible, ajustado históricamente y visualmente atractivo.

The project regards the restoration of the building and its adaptation as a Government building. The project assesses the site in order to shape an adequately functional, historical and recognisable restoration of the building. The building is composed of two bodies: the cloister and the posterior body of the façade that looks out onto the Calle de los Maestres. These two bodies allow a distinct reading from one another. Attached to them is a third body, the Iglesia del Temple, with which is formed the historical site of a military and religious origin. It is separated in parts through the disentailment of the Church¿s assets in the 19th Century. The intervention will centre on the first two bodies, with the exception of the lower floor which is currently occupied by the Police Department, with access from the Calle de los Maestres. The project proposes a technically correct and reliable materialisation, which not only suits its foreseeable use, but also the necessary stages of work in order to sustain the administrative and representative activity of the building, with results that are recognisable, historically adapted and visually attractive.
