dc.description.abstract [EN] Nowadays water resources are limited in many countries around the world. Membrane technology is a recent development in water reclamation. Due to the interest in membrane technology, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis membranes were studied in this work. The aim was to characterize the membrane properties and to compare their behaviour in the filtration of municipal waste water. The results showed that the permeate flux was significantly higher in nanofiltration than in reverse osmosis. Both NF and RO retained very well organic pollutants but retention is lower with inorganic pollutants especially in nanofiltration. The flux of the CR-filter was about twice as high as flux of the low shear module when the same membrane was used. es_ES
