dc.description.abstract [EN] This thesis develops relationships between four main output parameters in the performance of a journal bearing: the Acoustic Emissions, the minimum film thickness, the power losses and the shear stresses in the lubricant. All data used in this thesis is obtained by measurements in situ from readings of the sensors attached in a test rig for the experiment. The test rig consisted in a rotating shaft pulled by an electric motor, supported in a journal bearing, all measurements are referred to the journal bearing ¿ shaft system. Relationships are give between the 4 parameters and between the 4 parameters and the input conditions: load, velocity and oil type es_ES
