Floor heating system for low energy houses

[EN] This project carries out an investigation about hydronic floor heating systems in order to study the viability of develop a very cheap floor heating system for low energy consumption houses, as an alternative against the conventional solutions used in this kind of constructions facing to increase the thermal comfort of the indoor environment of the buildings. The investigation is divided in different sections. During the first part of the study, the different characteristics of the floor heating are investigated in order to show what the influence of these parameters in the final efficiency of the system is. The second part of this study, is simulate the behaviour of the real system by creating a realistic model of the floor heating system, in the way that, to create this model, all the variables involved in a real system are taken into account. Finally, the floor heating system is analyzed along a year for a Low Energy house class 1 by using a climatologic database of Denmark. Once obtained the results of the simulations, the viability of the floor heating system is evaluated, not only to check if the heating system can be as cheap for being used in Low Energy houses ¿ Passives houses, but also to show the possibilities of being heat supplied by the actual District Heating System.
