dc.description.abstract [EN] Direct expansion systems are widely used in the transport of perishable goods. The reason is their simplicity; due to the refrigerant exchange chill directly with the ambient without secondary circuits. Refrigeration multi-compartment trailers use a direct expansion multi-temperature system to control temperature inside the chambers. Nowadays this system is modulated clutching and declutching the compressor with the engine. Control consists in an on-off modulation of the flow of refrigerant into the system to control the temperature. This project deals about the effect of fan speed in the direct expansion system. Cold room temperature is controlled by modulation of the fans. The aim of this project is investigate how fan speed affects to the working parameters as capacity, mass flow rate, compressor power and coefficient of performance (COP). A multi-compartment direct expansion multi-temperature system was tested at different fan speeds and set temperatures to collect data and find out the effects of fan modulation in the system. es_ES
