Case Study to evaluate the feasibility of using of "Sikuli" in the company Sulake

Abstract

Software testing is becoming a very important quality assurance technique in industry. Companies are realising that they need this process in place in order to be more competent and able to deliver more quality on theirs products. This is very challenging for them since the technology and new tools, process and techniques are appearing really quickly. In this thesis we will present a case study to evaluate the feasibility of replacement a commercial tool for visual GUI testing by an open source solution called Sikuli in the Finnish company Sulake. Our case study aims to show the results of facing both tools to same test suite to distinguish, if any, differences between them and provide Sulake with enough data to make future decisions about its testing processes.
