El Jugendstil en la arquitectura modernista de Valencia. Lo inmaterial del patrimonio edificado

Abstract

[ES] La exposición Viena en la arquitectura modernista de Valencia, que nació de la tesis doctoral de María Mestre Martí, muestra las influencias de la capital del Imperio austrohúngaro en Valencia durante el cambio del siglo XIX al XX. La divulgación, como paso para que el patrimonio inmaterial no caiga en el olvido, nos ha llevado a la organización de una ruta cultural por los edificios con modernismo Jugendstil en la ciudad de Valencia, España, involucrando también el turismo, estrechamente vinculado al patrimonio, como es sabido. Ello abrió una posibilidad al turismo cultural en la ciudad, gracias a la transferencia de conocimientos de dicha investigación a un público no especializado e interesado en la historia de la ciudad. La colaboración entre instituciones ha permitido completar la muestra expositiva y dar relevancia social a las actividades, ampliando su difusión y su vertiente multidisciplinar, lo que se ha traducido en un acercamiento de la cultura arquitectónica y patrimonial a la sociedad. En este artículo se pone de relieve la proyección de la investigación: por una parte, resaltando su importancia, y por otra, dándole difusión al patrimonio edificado y ligándolo con el inmaterial.

[EN] The exhibition Vienna in the modernist architecture of Valencia, which started from the PhD Thesis of Maria Mestre Martí, shows the influences of the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in Valencia at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth. Spreading the research results, as a step to avoid the intangible heritage to fall into oblivion, has led us to the organization of the cultural route through the Jugendstil buildings in the city of Valencia, Spain, also involving tourism, closely linked to heritage, as it is well known. It opened a possibility for the cultural tourism in the city, through the transfer of knowledge of the investigation to a non-specialized but interested public on the history of the city. Collaboration between institutions has allowed us to complete the exhibition, and to implicate society, expanding its spreading and its multidisciplinary approach, which has resulted in an approximation to the architectural and heritage related culture to society. The projection of the investigation is highlighted in this article: in one hand, enhancing its importance, and, on the other hand, disseminating the built heritage, linking it also with the intangible one.
