dc.description.abstract | [EN] The water waves could be an infinite source of energy, due to the fact that the ocean carries large amounts of energy through waves. The technology to obtain energy from water waves has seen an increase in efficiency during the last years. The purpose of this project is to propose different ways to obtain energy from the water waves. A numerical analysis of two different wave energy attenuators in order to optimize them in some spots of Europe has been performed. Each device will extract the energy from the waves using different methods. The modelling has been done using the design marine software called, Multisurf. It permits to export geometries to WAMIT taking into account some considerations. The numerical analysis provides the motions and the hydrodynamics coefficients in its non dimensional form, due to the interaction with the water waves. It has been done using the computing software called, WAMIT. The optimization has been done in two different ways, the first one using the interaction between linear waves and the device, and the other one more realistically, using historical data of irregular waves from the last 10 years in specific spots of Europe. The far field elevation and the capture width will be plotted in order to have a general idea of the efficiency of the device. | es_ES |
