Sistema de análisis DAFO aplicado a Gestión Cultural: propuesta de musealización del Cementerio General de Valencia

Abstract

[EN] This investigation addresses the application of the SWOT system (Strenghts, Weaknessess, Threats, and Opportunities) to the cultural management field. In order to do this, a specific project was analyzed, seeking to demonstrate the usefulness of this tool and the advantages of its use. Proposing to transform the General Cemetery of Valencia in a museum, we carry out an analysis of the project with the tools that SWOT system offers. This will allow us to not only detect potential problems with the project, but also to identify important aspects to highlight when considering the musealization of the site. The General Cemetery has several problems, but also presents great potential as a cultural information source, reflecting the ideals that governed the nineteenth century Valencian society. The quantity and quality of the cultural patrimony it houses makes it possible to suggest its transformation into an “Open Air Museum”. The SWOT analysis carried out has resulted in the identification of numerous advantages offered by the project, compared to the problems of the site. Drawing on this study, we establish specific goals and propose six strategies that seek to offer solutions to these problems

[ES] En esta investigación se quiere abordar la aplicación del sistema de gestión DAFO (Debilidades, Amenazas, Fortalezas y Oportunidades) aplicado al ámbito de la gestión cultural. Para ello se ha procedido al análisis de un proyecto específico, en el se busca demostrar la utilidad de esta herramienta y las ventajas que ofrece su empleo. A su vez, se ha procedido a la evaluación, mediante el sistema DAFO, de una propuesta de musealización del Cementerio General de Valencia. Este sistema nos permitirá no sólo detectar los posibles problemas a los que se enfrenta, sino también localizar los aspectos a potenciar a la hora de plantear la musealización el recinto. El Cementerio General posee diversos problemas, pero goza de un fuerte potencial como difusor de cultura, al reflejar los ideales que regían la sociedad valenciana del siglo XIX. La cantidad y calidad del patrimonio que alberga, hacen posible el planteamiento de un “Museo al Aire Libre”. El análisis DAFO llevado a cabo, ha dado como resultado la identificación de las numerosas ventajas que ofrece el proyecto, frente a los problemas que presenta el recinto. Tomando como referencia el análisis realizado, se han establecido unos objetivos específicos y se han planteado seis estrategias, que buscan ofrecer soluciones a estos problemas. (español)
