Study on the measurement of real world drive cycles

Abstract

This project talks about driving cycles, how were they built until actuality and which results were obtained, and how we are going to obtain our own driving cycles. In this project is explained a new way to obtain driving cycles using smartphones, the strengths and weaknesses that the use of a smartphone have. To obtain driving cycles have been conducted a series of experiments to know how the accelerometer of a smartphone works and if it works in the proper way. Moreover, an Android app has been begun to develop with Eclipse to have the data in a good format. Therefore, an algorithm in Matlab has been developed to transform the raw data from the sensor to a format that allows us to work with it.
