dc.description.abstract | [EN] Ambitious aims for renewable energy sources were set up by the German Federal Government, expecting a contribution of electricity generated from renewable energies of 80% by 2050. Due to the rapid growth of photovoltaic energy in the last years, an even greater increase of its contribution is expected to achieve the targets. Therefore, the analysis of the technical PV potential has to be carried out. This study presents an estimation of PV technical potential of roof-mounted and free fields for each municipality of Germany. The total technical PV potential was determined as 104.32 TWh/a with an installable capacity of 119.3 GWp. Roof-mounted PV systems present a technical potential of 68.3 TWh/a with an installable capacity of 79.2 GWp, while PV systems installed on free fields presents a technical potential of 36 TWh/a with an installable capacity of 40.13 GWp. The distribution of the technical PV potential shows big differences between municipalities, demonstratig the metropolitan municipalities as having great potential. | es_ES |
