Assessment of integration potential improvements using different control algorithms for voltage regulated distributiom transformers

[EN] Low voltage grids have faced a massive installation of small and medium scale renewa-ble energy sources along the last decade. Especially photovoltaic generation systems, which throughout the last years have been installed in more and more private houses or farms. This thesis looks for the optimum working of the Voltage Regulated Distribution Trans-former (VRDT) by using control algorithms which will assess integration potential im-provements to avoid expensive grid reinforcements, grid reconfiguration or land working for grid expansion. These control algorithms will be applied to five different grids where the suitability of these algorithms for performance will be analyzed. Results will provide information about which algorithm is more suitable for each grid, although in some cases none of them is suitable and it is assumed that the grid does not need any of the algorithms.
