REFLEJOS DE SAN ANTONIO: ANÁLISIS DE LA PRODUCCIÓN ARTÍSTICA EN SALVADOR DE BAHIA COMO AGENTE MANTENEDOR DE UNA TRADICIÓN

Abstract

[EN] Abstract

The aim of this work is to present an analysis of the artistic production developed in Bahia for the festivities in honor of St. Anthony. Different from the liturgical practices of churches, these domestically made actions have acquired characteristics that resisted the cultural spectacle of the alienating media.

To know it`s origin, evolution, expansion and the factors that occasionally restricted their practices, we have been conducting the exhibitions "Antonio! Tempo, Amor & Tradição" for almost two decades. The artistic expressions, presented in these exhibitions and personal production developed in "atelier improved data collection and rescue the tradition.

Despite the geographical frame of the research is Salvador, Bahia - Brasil, other festive aspects observed in Portugal and Spain also support the analytical development of this work. Other symbolic elements of religions, such as the African Candomblé were also inserted in this research considering the syncretic approach between St. Anthony to the Orixá Ogun in Bahia.

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar un análisis de la producción artística desarrollada en Bahia para las fiestas en honor a San Antonio. Diferentes de las prácticas litúrgicas de las iglesias, estas acciones han resistido a la espectacularización cultural mediática al ser realizadas en el ámbito doméstico. Para conocer su origen, su evolución, su expansión y los factores que en algunas ocasiones limitaron su práctica, realizamos las exposiciones Antonio! Tempo, Amor & Tradição durante casi dos décadas. Estas acciones, a través de las obras presentadas por los artistas sumadas a la producción personal desarrollada en taller, contribuyeron a la recopilación de información y recuperación de la tradición. Aunque el hito geográfico de la investigación se encuentra en Salvador, Bahía - Brasil, otros aspectos festivos observados en Portugal y España también proporcionaron apoyo analítico para el desarrollo del trabajo. Elementos simbólicos pertenecientes a otras religiones, como el Candomblé africano, también participaron en esta investigación teniendo en cuenta los enfoques sincréticos entre San Antonio y el Orixá Ogun practicados en Bahia.

El present treball té com a objectiu presentar una anàlisi de la producció artística desenvolupada en Bahia per a les festes en honor a Sant Antonio. Diferents de les pràctiques litúrgiques de les esglésies, aquestes accions han resistit a la espectacularización cultural mediàtica en ser realitzades en l'àmbit domèstic.

Per a conèixer el seu origen, la seua evolució, la seua expansió i els factors que en algunes ocasions van limitar la seua pràctica, realitzem les exposicions Antonio! Tempo, Amor & Tradição durant quasi dues dècades. Aquestes accions, a través de les obres presentades pels artistes sumades a la producció personal desenvolupada en taller, van contribuir a la recopilació d'informació i recuperació de la tradició.

Encara que la fita geogràfica de la recerca es troba en Salvador, Bahia - Brasil, altres aspectes festius observats a Portugal i Espanya també van proporcionar suport analític per al desenvolupament del treball. Elements simbòlics pertanyents a altres religions, com el Candomblé africà, també van participar en aquesta recerca tenint en compte els enfocaments sincréticos entre Sant Antonio i el Orixá Ogun practicats en Bahia.
