This project consists of a design for an energy efficient household in order to optimize the photovoltaic generation curve. An automated system is introduced so as to measure the power consumption in the household. In case of exceeding maximum power levels the system will automatically switch off an appliance or several ones in order to decrease the quantity of consumed power. In addition, some photovoltaic cells have been introduced in the system in order to supply extra energy from the sun and decrease the general power consumption of the household. With this green gesture, it is helped the environment to reduce the contamination and it can also help the customer to be more independent with the electrical company. A case study is presented in order to give an example of the application of the proposed method. By analyzing the behaviour of several household appliances and how much energy they consume, it can be compared with the photovoltaic cells supplied energy and make a distribution for a better optimization of the energy. With this purpose it is maximized the energy provided by the photovoltaic cells and minimized the electrical costs. The purpose of the project is to focus only on domestic uses. In case of applying it into other fields, such as the industry or department stores, it will be needed a further analysis.[-]
