In this document you will find the whole procedure defined by Jan Roskam in Methods for estimating stability and control derivatives of conventional subsonic airplanes applied to an airplane called STARK 120.This airplane was created in Università di Pisa in 1998 with military purposes. The aim was to create a RC airplane that could fly holding a flare in order to practice shooting from a Stinger with moving targets. All the data found by means of these methods has been obtained by looking through the airplane drawings. In some cases, more information was needed and it was obtained from Progetto Aeromeccanico Velivolo teleguidato “STARK 120” by the aerospace department of Università di Pisa. In the text you will find the following information: -Geometrical information: The most important parameters to take into account from the airplane decompound in wing, horizontal tail and vertical tail. -A 3D design of the airplane was created using Creo Parametric 2.0 and the results will be shown in section 3. -To set up the conditions of the derivatives, the flight parameters were selected as well as the fixed parameters of the airplane such as weight or speed. -All stability and control derivatives were obtained and you will find all the formula development hold by the use of some figures which are all gathered in section 7. -A conclusion confronting the results obtained by applying these methods with the values obtained in 1998 in Progetto Aeromeccanico Velivolo teleguidato “STARK 120”. All calculations are organized in an excel file which was used in order to have the capability of changing parameters without recalculating every formula.[-]
