Avanti project: Implementation phase of an aviation ERP

Abstract

The present FInal project (Avanti programme) exists to implement common best practice engineering processes for aircraft operating companies within Babcock. This project envolves all implementation phase but it focuses only on a single operating company inside the group, Inaer Spain. In this context engineering includes Continuous Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO), Maintenance (Part 145 - Technical Office) and related Logistics, Purchasing and Warehousing. It includes the financial control, planning and management of and reporting on, these activities. This is a programme of transformational business change, supported by the implementation of common business processes supported by the Ramco Aviation Suite software package. The Avanti Programme, more specifically, the Avanti project in Inaer Spain is a very ambitious project. It aims to help the company to be integrated in a group as Babcock International, after that the company will dive into the selective world of big companies. Inaer Spain is the first stage, the first step of the group, the first one among all operating companies inside Babcock Mission Critical Services around the world. Once the programme of business change concludes, Inaer Spain would start a new way of work with improved services an optimized operations. The company will enlarge its capabilities and also think about new ones as Data Analysis, for instance, that will increase the possibilities of growth and progress. The present final project is organized in two big parts. The first one expose the company characteristics, a great leap forward, from a familiar and little company to a company inside a big group with a global impact. In addition to this big growth, in this first part it is detailed the present situation, current systems that are in use in Inaer Spain as well as its internal organization. All those topics could comprise the project justification. The second part developes the Avanti Programme that is being accomplished, all steps and details of the Programme are analyse thoroughly, the steps that have been done and the ones that still pending. The scope of the Avanti Programme will be detailed as well as all activities and tasks needed to a successful completion of the project.
