dc.description.abstract Traditionally the selection of composites and their manufacturing process has been extremely tedious. Most companies wouldn’t share their details and engineers have to go through large manuals and then contact each company to get estimations on characteristics, prices, availability, times of manufacturing ... on both materials and processes. Prosel is a project within the Composites Innovation Cluster (CIC), funded by the UK Government’s Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI). Thanks to all the data previously gathered in the project, it is possible to supply software support to the composite selection process. The aim of this thesis is to develop a software-tool for composite component design and manufacturing, which provides recommendation of materials and process selection, as well as design and manufacturing guidelines. es_ES
