ARTE DE PROCESO EN EL ESPACIO PÚBLICO. BE CREATIVE, UNA PROPUESTA EXPERIMENTAL

Abstract

[EN] This project is based on theorizing a practical work that I conducted for the intervention in the Tarongers campus last October for the seventh PUBLIC ART CONTEST FOR YOUNG CREATORS of the University of Valencia, with the artist Maria Isabel García Muñoz. Our intervention in the Campus of Tarongers is a sculptural installation of intervention in public space. With the intention of generating a visual shock by a deviation from the norm that breaks with the unusual perception of passers by of the intervened building, we made a sculpture of 10 meters long with a great color welth. Conceptually this is a metaphor based on personification of the students wich are studying in different areas of the campus and the approach of a challenge: to provoke in them the needing to unleash their own creativity.

[ES] Esta memoria recoge la teorización del trabajo práctico que se llevó a cabo para la intervención en el Campus de Tarongers el pasado octubre con motivo del VII MOSTRA D’ART PÚBLIC DE JOVES CREADORS de la Universitat de València, junto con la artista y compañera María Isabel García Muñoz. Nuestra intervención en el Campus de Tarongers se trata de una instalación escultórica de intervención en el espacio público. Con la intención de generar mediante un desvío de la norma un shock visual que rompa con la percepción habitual del transeúnte sobre el edificio intervenido realizamos una escultura de 10 metros de longitud de gran riqueza cromática. Conceptualmente se trata de una metáfora basada en la personificación de los alumnos que estudían en las diferentes áreas del Campus, y el planteamiento de un reto “provocar en ellos la necesidad de dar rienda suelta a su creatividad interior”.
