dc.description.abstract The aim of this work is to study the degradation of Polylactide-PLA under the environmental conditions which are present when it is subjected to non-controlled disposal. Since the distinctive prpoerty of PLA is its ease of biodegradation, its degradation process will be simulated by the synergetic effect of solar radiation and degradation in soil. A collection of PLA samples was exposed to different stages of bio and photodegradation, in order to understand their individual degradation mechanisms and possible synergetic effects. es_ES
