Ser y parecer. La identidad retratada

Abstract

[EN] This essay discurses on the proccess on which an identity translates onto a painting, being the idea of to be and to seem the starting point. It intends to part away from the simple physical appearance and describes the mechanisms with which the artist is able to plastically interprete the complex substance that is the “being”. It highlights the artist’s perceptive ability and cultural background to produce a piece that can be understandable and will move the viewer.

[ES] Este trabajo intenta gestionar los procesos por los que una identidad se plasma en un cuadro a partir de la idea de ser y parecer. Pretende ahondar más allá de la simple apariencia física y describe los mecanismos por los que el artista es capaz de interpretar plásticamente esa compleja sustancia del “yo”. Se pone de manifiesto su capacidad perceptiva y el bagaje cultural para realizar una representación que pueda ser comprendida y llegue al espectador.
