RETRATOS DACTILARES. UN ESTUDIO DE LA MEMORIA A TRAVÉS DE LA PINTURA

Abstract

[EN] This artistic project blooms out of the personal need to materialize a series of ideas that otherwise wouldn’t be so meaningful. Mainly through paint, Retratos Dactilares, defines the fingerprint as a mark, a trace of something that “was”, an identity…, memory and oblivion, everything that was and now isn´t; fingerprint and touch, fingerprint and sight, the “fingerprint” of a tree or a leaf…like a portrait or a witness of what is absent and present. All of this is developed through the explanation of two fundamental concepts: Memory in relation to identity constructions and identity in itself as a social basis; we are context, and contemporary society only seems to be slipping through tactile screens. Future and the acceleration of what occurs to us makes us time slaves. This project offers a reflexion about the fear to disappear, oblivion, death…; in other words, the fear of not being able to leave a trace/mark.

[ES] Nos encontramos ante un proyecto artístico fundamentado en la necesidad personal de materializar la relación entre una serie de ideas que de otro modo no cobrarían tanto sentido. Principalmente mediante la pintura, Retratos Dactilares trata de definir la huella como rastro, como identidad, como memoria y olvido, como todo aquello que estuvo y no está; la huella y el tacto, la huella y la vista, la huella de un árbol, de una hoja,… la huella como retrato, como testigo de lo ausente y lo presente. Todo esto queda desarrollado al explicar conceptos fundamentales como: La Memoria, en relación a las construcciones identitarias y la identidad en sí misma como base social; somos contexto y la sociedad contemporánea sólo parece deslizarse entre pantallas táctiles. El devenir y la aparente aceleración de todo aquello que nos ocurre nos convierte en esclavos de la fugacidad. Este proyecto intenta ofrecer una reflexión acerca del miedo a desaparecer, al olvido, a la muerte…; en definitiva, el miedo a no ser capaz de dejar huella.
