Abstract

[EN] In this bachelor thesis we have studied editorial design through the conceptualization and materialization of a magazine specialized in theater. The aim of the magazine developed, is to spread theatrical culture. The editorial project is formed by various elements, seeking to segment and attract the target audience. For each target, the most effective techniques were applied. This project have tried to build bridges between traditional and modern techniques, creating a design that enrich the digital media without forgetting the qualities of the materials. From a theoretical point of view, we will briefly overview key movements in the history of design. This historical review will give us the chance to think about the role of designers in our society and how their work will influence our perception of the world around us. This concern led me to select a comprehensive set of papers that will provide a broad vision of the theatrical arts. Moreover, we design an editorial project where aesthetics is at the service of functionality. Finally, this memory describes the work process carried out. A study of the state of the art is presented, as well as a description of the elements designed to create a cohesive editorial project.

[ES] El presente trabajo de final de grado estudia el diseño editorial aplicándolo a la conceptualización y materialización de una revista especializada en teatro, con el objetivo de difundir la cultura teatral. El proyecto editorial tiene distintas facciones que buscan segmentar y atraer al público objetivo aplicando en cada caso las técnicas más efectivas. Hemos pretendido tender puentes de unión entre técnicas tradicionales y actuales, creando un diseño que enriquezca el medio digital sin olvidar las cualidades de los materiales. Desde el punto de vista teórico haremos un breve repaso sobre momentos claves de la historia del diseño que nos darán pie a reflexionar sobre el papel del diseñador y sobre su influencia en la sociedad. Esta reflexión es el germen que nos ha llevado a la selección de contenidos pedagógicos que den una visión amplia del teatro y a un diseño donde la estética se ponga al servicio de la funcionalidad. Además, en esta memoria se describe el proceso de trabajo llevado a cabo para completar el proyecto. Se han estudiado los referentes editoriales cercanos y se ha evaluado cómo los distintos elementos que hemos creado se cohesionan en el proyecto.
