dc.description.abstract | Polyolefins are the largest volume polymer on the market. To characterize them properly is necessary to predict correctly the material response during its service life. The Chemical Composition Distribution (CCD) is an essential polyolefin microstructure information. The analytical technique Temperature Rising Elution Fractionation (TREF), is one of the most appropriate techniques to obtain polyolefin CCD. An important part of TREF apparatus is the column where separation according to sample crystallizability takes place. In this master thesis, the influence of different packing materials on the separation process has been studied in order to clarify which is the best material and which surface and chemical treatment are required to prepare the optimum TREF columns. | es_ES |
