Project 1. Design a merchandise line to promote the Hirschkrah drink product. All merchandise will
feature a prominant brand identity for the product and capture the essense of the brand identity.
There should be three designs:
1. A small inexpensive product under €1-5 to produce. This will be a give away for promotional
events so it needs to be inexpensive, but also appealing as an object and outside of the usual
gimmicks used to promotoe alcohol products such as keyrings, coasters, bottle openers and so on.
2. A medium range promotional giveaway ranging from €5-€20. This will be like a special giveaway,
either as a small prize, sold item or bonus gift when purchasing special edition products or bulk
orders etc. Again, this is to be out of the ordinary, so not something simple like regular glassware or
shirts etc.
3. A high end product for sale at the showroom, high end giveaways at sponsor events, competitions
and so on. There is no price range on this product (keep it within reason though!!) and student
groups should be very adventurousd with this particular product. This can literally be anything, but
try to keep this in line with the Hirschkrah design aesthetic and brand identity.
Project 2. Design a single letter design, to be used as a logo and feature piece at a local high end
dentist practice.
Groups are to work from the oral brief provided at MIAM MIAM to design a stylish, modern letter G,
to be used on cupboaards, as vynal stickers, and on business cards and other various print and
digital designs. The letter should be elegant and simple and should in some way reference the
young but stylish high-end spirit of the company brand and can possible contain some visual
indicators to the fact the this is for a dentist practice (without being tacky or cliché).
Project 3 Brief [editar]
As mentioned in class, this week we will also assign the third project, which is due January 14th,
2015 in class.
The brief is here as follows:
§ The Magazine will have aporox. 20 Pages (incl. Cover)
§ A possible name for magazine is JET Set or Jetsetter :)
§ Target audience - drivers, shop buyers, car washer etc.
What we (as a client) would like to see:
§ Nice grid / design solution
§ Format is free to choose, the mag is free give away and will be available on the petrol station - so
the size should be readable for a driver (storage in car?)
Themes:
§ Everything about car, car-care, road & advices for smart driving
§ Introduction of new shop/s
§ Will need a rapid information page- Page like a "smart in 60 sec“ feature in the magazine
§ Product advertisement - full page, half page and 1/4 adverts.
§ Cover should show the main theme for that issue + some other themes - Picture and Typo
§ The magazine should be modern, stylish, easy to read (big photos, loads of free space, not
„overcrowded“ with info/text)
§ It will be quarterly issue, so maybe connected to four saisons with themes like „how do I make my
car winter proof“ etc.
§ They should design the cover, front & back. and at least grid for 6 pages - double ones - or 12 single
pages.
