Abstract

[EN] This project includes the practical, theoretical and research work that has been done during this last academic year and presents a reflection about the view of the concept smile regarding to the world today. We can notice how the concept of smile has changed along art’s history. From being an element used to represent the underclass of the society (jesters , thieves, criminals, etc.), to be, possibly, the most used expression in the world of representation these days. In addition, by using artistic practice , we will study the representation of this concept smile/laugh, making two series of works, a photographic series and a pictorial series.

[ES] Este proyecto abarca el trabajo, tanto práctico, teórico como de investigación, realizado durante un curso académico y presenta una reflexión de la visión de la sonrisa en el mundo del arte y en relación al mundo actual. Podremos ver, como esta concepción de sonrisa ha cambiado durante la historia del arte. Desde un elemento empleado para representar a la clase baja de la sociedad (bufones, ladrones, malhechores, etc.), a posiblemente la expresión más utilizada en el mundo de la representación de estos días. Además, trataremos mediante la práctica artística, la representación de dicho concepto, realizando dos series de obras, una serie fotográfica y una serie pictórica.
