Una cárcel metafórica

Abstract

[EN] The purpose of this pr oject is to transport the viewer to a n artistic place where they can feel tension . Is a bout the immigra nts’ situation when they arrive to our country and they’re kept inside a CIE’s center. This installation has a clear and dark aesthetics, with a lugubrious and impacting sound and loud illumination. Project tries to board the public to a closed space like a CIEs prison cell, place where you can feel being closed inside without commit no crime, violating all human rights. This work pretends to refl ect on all troubles they hav e, but on a n conceptual and metaphorical way. And pretends , also , make the persons to reflect on the p urpose of this kind of centers and wonder about them . G uest s have to arrive to the room , read the plates of the door, that pla tes will introduce them to the meaning of the project. After that, they have to enter inside the room and see the connection between that room and human confinement . For making this project , we have carried out a research work which is based on the collect ion and connection of information about installations during history and data of th ose centers . We have a lso investigated about some artists who worked about this problem and we think they’re close of this topic and we added the artists w hose work we think have made important c ontributions.

[ES] El propósito de este proyecto es el traslado del espectador a un espacio artístico provocador de tensión, que hace referencia a la problemática de la situación de los inmigrantes al alcanzar nuestro país y ser internados en un centro CIEs (Centro de Internamiento de Extran jeros). Este proyecto , a modo de instalación, co nsta de una estética sencilla y tenebrosa a la vez , con sonido lúgubre e impactante e iluminación tenue, tratando de transportar al público que acuda a un espacio cerrado que se equipara con el interior de una celda CIEs . Se busca transmitir la sensación q ue se siente al haber sido internado sin haber cometido ningún delito violando los derechos fundamentales humanos . Esta instalación de carácter conceptual pretende hacer ref lexionar de una forma metafórica sob re las dificultades que sufren los extranjeros, particularmente los de tez oscura, y sobre la existencia, utilidad y propósito de este tipo de centros. El invitado debe llegar a la habitación, leer las placas de la puerta que le indicarán de manera irónica el tema de l que tratará la obra y , al entrar , sentir el símil entre esa habitación y ciertos aspectos del confinamiento humano . Para ello se ha llevado a cabo una investigación basada en la recopilación y conexión de información acerca del arte de la instalación en diversas etapas históricas, junto co n datos de estos centros en el país, y el testimonio de alguna persona que ha sufrido esta situación. A demás , se ha llevado a cabo una investigación sobre ciertos artistas que han tratado esta problemática en sus obras y , han sido añadidos como referentes a condición de que hayan hecho aportaciones creativas que hayan servido como influencia artística .
