Abstract

[EN] In recent years in Great Britain there has been an upsurge of interest in the work of our graphic art-ists of the mid Twentieth Century. The output of these artists spread comfortably across the fine and applied arts. The lasting legacy of the work of these artists and printers is becoming increas-ingly evident as we view the current landscape of British illustration and the current mania for all things ‘retro’ shows no sign of abating. This can be seen in all areas of design but is perhaps most evident in home furnishing and illustration.Pattern, design, print, ‘pattern papers’, illus-trated books, applied arts.

[ES] En los últimos años en Gran Bretaña ha surgido gran interés por el trabajo de nuestros artistas gráficos de mediados del siglo XX cuya producción se extiende ampliamente a través de las bellas artes y las artes aplicadas. El legado permanente del trabajo de estos artistas e impresores se hace cada vez más evidente a la vista del panorama actual de la ilustración británica.
