dc.description.abstract | [EN] The high demand of conventional fuels and their rising prices have made researchers to switch to technology which are highly efficient on the same time they emit less pollutant compared conventional fuels. The new mode of combustion strategy namely Low Temperature Control (LTC) has potential to reduce this problem. This type of technology includes Homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI), partially premixes combustion (PPC) and reactivity controlled compression ignition (RCCI). These technology use early fuel injection to allow more time for the charge to get mixed before combustion. RCCI combustion is a type of combustion which use port fuel injection (PFI) for high octane fuel whereas direct injection of high cetane number fuel. Both of the fuel in this technology are being mixed inside the combustion chamber as a result of which there is more combustion control which cannot be achieved in other LTC technology. This article presents the process and developments in RCCI engine technology. Present investigation is a review of various studies being performed on RCCI engine and starts with the introduction of LTC mode and pros and cons of various technologies associated with it in comparison with RCCI engine. By the end of this study it can be concluded that RCCI technology has great future in coming scenario of alternatives. | es_ES |
