Libro como obra de arte, una aproximación desde el género al cuento de La Caperucita Roja

Abstract

This is a graphic and investigative project in which we use the book itself as an art piece, approaching popular literature of oral tradition, specifically, the various versions of Little Red Riding Hood.

The aim of this study has been to delve into the collective imagination of one of the most well-known tales around the world, from the very firsts scripts where the spoken words were recorded. Moreover, the adaptations and adjustments the tale has experienced since the very beginning, their assimilation as a part of the universal culture, and the following interpretations of the media, either plastic or visual have also been taken into account. All this theoretical investigation has been translated to the Artists¿ book format, producing five books wherein has been studied the different ways in which stories can be regulated, as well as the gender and the role women take in the Little Red Riding Hood tale.

The purpose of this study is to encourage reading to active participants willing to modulate and interpret the sequence or rhythm of a book as an art work. And the techniques chosen for this purpose have been the serigraphy and lithography with offset.

Es tracta d¿un projecte gràfic i d¿investigació on es treballa el format del llibre com a obra d¿art tractant la literatura popular i de tradició oral, concretament, les diverses versions del conte de la Caputxeta Vermella.

L¿objecte de l¿estudi ha sigut aprofundir en l¿imaginari col·lectiu d¿un dels contes populars de tradició oral més coneguts del món, des de les primeres transcripcions on allò oral passa a ser escrit. A més, s¿han investigat les adaptacions i transformacions a les quals ha sigut sotmès, la seua assimilació com a part de la cultura popular universal, i les consegüents reinterpretacions en distints àmbits, tant plàstics com visuals. Tota aquesta investigació teòrica s¿ha traslladat al format llibre d¿artista, creant cinc llibres on s¿han estudiat diferents formes de modular la història, alhora que es treballa el gènere i el paper que assumeix la dona dins del conte de la Caputxeta Vermella.

El propòsit és afavorir una lectura amb un lector/a participant actiu a l¿hora de modular i d¿interpretar la seqüència o ritme de lectura amb el llibre com a obra d¿art. I el llenguatge gràfic escollit, per tal d¿aconseguir aquest objectiu, ha sigut el de la tècnica serigràfica i la litografia offset.
