"Shalott" - Cortometraje de efectos especiales

Abstract

Trabajo conjunto realizado por Mario Ceballos y José Manuel Palenzuela.

Shalott es un cortometraje confeccionado con el objetivo de centrarnos en la introducción de imágenes de una actriz real en un entorno generado digitalmente, siendo fundamental la implementación de efectos especiales en todas las escenas. Mediante el uso de estos recursos tratamos de dotar de mayor plasticidad a los planos.

Nuestro corto se basa en la obra "The Lady of Shalott" del poeta inglés Lord Alfred Tennyson. Partiendo de este texto, creamos un vínculo entre la narración del poema y las imágenes, cambiando la estética medieval inherente al poema por una radicalmente distinta, una ambientación ecléctica que bebe tanto de diversos filmes de ciencia ficción como de obras de la cultura pop.

Shalott is a shot film made with the goal of focusing on the integration of footage of a real actress in a computer generated environment, being very important the use of special effects in every scene. By means of this we try to give more plasticity to the shots.

Our short film is based on "The Lady of Shalott" by the English poet Lord Alfred Tennyson. Starting from this text, we create a link between the narrative of the poem and the images, changing the medieval aesthetics of the poem for one radically different, and eclectic atmosphere that is influenced by a diversity of science-fiction films and other kind of art manifestations of the pop culture.
