Reciclaje de infraestructura urbana: Parque Bicentenario, antiguo aeropuerto de Quito, Ecuador

Abstract

[ES] El trabajo consiste en el análisis urbanístico de un sector de la ciudad de Quito en el que se encuentra ubicada una infraestructura ya sin uso: el antiguo aeropuerto. Esta circunstancia presenta la oportunidad de transformación de la antigua infraestructura en un gran parque urbano. El objetivo del TFM es investigar la integración del nuevo parque en su entorno urbano, formado por barrios degradados que tienen por ello, una oportunidad de mejora y recualificación urbana. El reciclaje se propone como herramienta para la regeneración urbana del área y para controlar operaciones de sustitución de la población actual por otra con mayor nivel de ingresos.

[EN] The work consists of the urban analysis of a sector of the city of Quito in which is located an infrastructure already without use: the old airport. This circumstance presents the opportunity to transform the old infrastructure into a large urban park. The objective of the TFM is to investigate the integration of the new park in its urban environment, formed by degraded neighborhoods that have for this, an opportunity of improvement and urban qualification. Recycling is proposed as a tool for the urban regeneration of the area and to control operations to replace the current population with another with a higher level of income.
