Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Inflexión sonora del dato: materia y base conceptual para dataMusic(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2023-03-31) Lecuona-Fornes, Sergio; Mañas-Carbonell, Moises; Departamento de Escultura; Facultad de Bellas Artes; Grupo de Laboratorio de Luz[ES] En este comienzo de la segunda década del siglo XXI, es difícil de refutar que el dato se ha convertido un recurso clave de las sociedades contemporáneas tecnotrónicas (Brzezinski, 1970) (Kitchin 2014, p 28). La electrificación de las cosas y la expansión de la digitalización hasta prácticamente todos los rincones y actividades de la vida ha hecho del dato una necesidad y no un elemento complementario al desarrollo de bienes y servicios. El diseño de las cosas, la comunicación, el avance de la ciencia y, cada vez más, las predicciones y toma de decisiones en cualquier ámbito fundamentan su desarrollo y resultados en el dato. Identificando que el dato es el nuevo crudo (Leaders, 2017), se ha convertido en un bien preciado con una economía del algoritmo propia, entendiendo economía como una ciencia social que organiza gestiona recursos relacionados con una variable de carácter cuantitativa o cualitativa. Quienes manejan esa economía, los que la gobiernan tienen la capacidad de controlar los algoritmos y aspirar a una posición dominante en este contexto variable. En esta coyuntura peri-algorítmica planteamos, desde este artículo, la conceptualización del Data Music como una práctica artística-sonora que trabaja con y sobre el dato; a modo de acción para promover el uso transdisciplinar del dato; como elemento de inflexión necesario y agente maleable entre áreas de conocimiento. De esta forma el dato abandona su uso exclusivo por parte de la ciencia y se incorpora al ámbito de las humanidades, en concreto dentro del marco sociocultural digital, como una economía basada en la interpretación del material intangible. Para ello, en este texto, proponemos el modelado de los aspectos conceptuales esenciales del Data Music mediante la interrelación de la cosmología del dato con la sonología de lo sonoro y el arte, comenzando desde la inmaterialidad del dato y el audio digitales.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , El Scenopoites en el patio. Crear/diseñar el espacio de juego a través del análisis y la práctica artística(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2023-03-31) Hernández Muñoz, Silvia; López Alonso, Francisco[EN] The courtyard, anthropologically, the vital and social center of homes, is also the center of life in schools. However, although we have many interventions in public and private courtyards, not many are carried out in schools. The following project aims to bring art closer to teachers, students, families and neighborhoods. We expose some artists who reflect and intervene in the schoolyard providing it with artistic values, rethinking the relationship of people with it and motivating change. We analyze the dynamics of play in relation to active methodologies and apply them to the outdoor space. Looking for the empathic motivation towards art and teaching that can be done in this space. We understand the geospace of the playground as a place where children develop their artistic sensibility for artistic purposes, not only pedagogical. Also a space where the work itself is intervened with games, noises, dances, actions... and where at the same time fun and the development of methodologies as well as the enjoyment of the space itself are favored. They also became part of the war strategy since they became technically viable. Currently, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, notably known as Drones, has expanded its participation in different segments of society due to its miniaturization resulting from the convergence between technology and digital imaging. To what extent do these artifacts cause changes in the production and reception of aerial images? Are we facing an extension of the gaze or its dehumanization? Supported by the reflections of Vilém Flússer and his work Towards a philosophy of Photography and Edmond Couchot in his book Art and Technology - from photography to virtual reality, this article seeks to reflect on this issue and analyze its possible contemporary developments.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , El espacio digital como experiencia estética: una métrica particular del tiempo(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2023-03-31) Pino Ahumada, María Carolina[ES] Este artículo intenta elucubrar acerca del asunto del tiempo en el espacio digital, entendido como el conjunto espacial virtual por medio del cual interactuamos online, por medio de una breve síntesis de las diferentes elaboraciones del concepto de tiempo y su transición en las diversas culturas y especies, se describe en primer ugar, el espacio digital como otro espacio, a relacionar con la experiencia estética, en donde el ser humano se desvincula del espacio físico real en el que habita, por medio de algoritmos en evolución y se desmaterializa el cuerpo físico, los lugares, los objetos, etc. En un espacio que muta y que tiene características particulares, con medidas, peso y formas de habitarlo, entre otras características propias, que abren la posibilidad de replantear también la métrica del tiempo que allí transcurre, y que es intransferible al mundo físico.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Aparentemente inamovibles e incorruptibles(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2023-03-31) Pastor Andrés, Gema; Guerra, Antonio[EN] This essay proposes a dialogue between a text in the form of a classical Greek tragedy written by Gema Pastor Andrés and a series of photographs that are part of the photobook La luz que nos ciega by Antonio Guerra. Both proposals speak of creation, death, perception, sensation, representation, technology and art... in substance and form, but, above all, of the weight of the place that inspired them, contemporary Castile, depopulated and deserted by fire, ice, intensive cultivation and the density of its culture.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Bomba de miel en el lugar de trabajo, plástica social en el museo de arte(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2023-03-31) Gutiérrez Galindo, Blanca[ES] Uno de los proyectos más significativos del artista alemán Joseph Beuys ((1921-1986) es Bomba de Miel en el lugar de trabajo, realizado en 1977 en conjunto con los miembros de la Universidad Internacional Libre, una iniciativa ciudadana creada por el artista como foro internacional permanente abierto a la discusión de los problemas sociales. El objetivo de este texto es analizar ese proyecto en el marco de las ideas de arte ampliado y plástica social que animaron la actividad artística de Beuys a partir de los años setenta. Mostraré su importancia como parte de una redefinición neovanguardista del arte en el contexto de una Alemania Occidental dividida por la Guerra Fría y en plena efervescencia ciudadana.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , La peregrinación como propuesta estética. Encuentros entre las prácticas artísticas y la peregrinación(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2023-03-31) Chillarón Camacho, Iván[EN] The following article is born from the attempt to explore possible answers to the question of what is the relationship between «art» and «pilgrimage» in contemporary artistic production, in light of the events that broke out in the s. XX in the visual arts, where "walking" broke out de facto as an autonomous aesthetic practice. Based on this exploration, the following lines describe different encounters between «art» and «pilgrimage» that have taken place in recent decades by national and international creators with the aim, mainly, of establishing a dialogue with their own pilgrimage experience as well as establishing a dialogue with the history of the phenomenon. Encounters that conceive of the pilgrimage per se as an autonomous experience and as a methodology for an aesthetic exploration as well as a reflective experience for personal artistic practice.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , La cultura como colonia, instrucción y cultivo. De cómo las diferentes nociones de cultura afectan a las políticas culturales(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2023-03-31) Rowan, Jaron; Ramos Cebrián, Sergio[EN] The article presents a brief overview of some of the main historical contributions to the definition of culture, analyzing the semantic field that encompasses the notion. Delving into conceptions that range from culture as a form of personal cultivation to understanding the role of culture as a colonizing agent, it seeks to clarify the political genealogy of the notion of culture. At the same time, the potential of culture as an institutional tool for instruction and social transformation will be explored. We are going to verify how culture understood as civilization and progress was imposing the imaginary of institutional culture, focused on heritage management and the cultivation of the population. And how, the advent of 'culture as a right' consolidates the patrimonial vision of culture, while gradually opening up to sensitivity for cultural diversity, to discourses around development, creativity and concern for inequality cultural. We consider that the different notions of culture have different consequences when they become transformed into cultural policies. To finish the article, it asks about the role that culture can have, understood as a transforming entity, in democratic sense.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , La promenade fotográfica: una experiencia arquitectónica basada en las artes(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2023-03-31) Fernández Morillas, Antonio[EN] Architecture is the discipline that builds the environments we inhabit, determining, in addition to a system of occupation and use of the territory, a structure that shapes the relationships of the inhabitants with their fellows and with the landscape. Architecture reflects the values of the societies that develop it and becomes one of their most representative symbols. Despite this, we often ignore its transcendental importance, to the point of forgetting that its main task is to offer itself as a space suitable for living in its broadest meaning. It is from here, from this essential function, that we take advantage of and reformulate the dynamics of the promenade architecturale proposed by Le Corbusier to activate didactic practices around architecture and thus reconquer its spaces. With this objective in mind, we will take advantage of the framework offered by artistic teaching-learning methodologies to make photography a key tool in architectural education. The relationship between the two disciplines is established with the emergence of photography, which sees in the city and its elements an attractive object of representation. For its part, architecture discovers a fundamental instrument for its communication, which transforms the traditional discursive language and sustains its leap to modernity. It will be precisely the photographic essays linked to Le Corbusier's projects that will offer us the keys to understand which images make up his reports and which ones are best suited to the photographic interpretation of the spatial experience provoked by the architectural journey, highlighting five specific types of architectural photographs.
