[EN] Culture, resistance and visual representation of the Afro in Cartagena, is an article that describes, analyzes and explains the visual works of plastic artists; Adalberto Jiménez and Mario Zabaleta. In this, reference is made to their works and the issues they deal with, based on their thinking and position regarding their Afro-descendant condition. In this way, the article shows how his identity mark is reflected in his artistic pieces, in his daily life inside and outside Colombia. Likewise, this text addresses the visual representation and the historical situation of the "black" populations in Colombia and the sociological notion of "invisibility". Likewise, artists are described in their capacity as creators and social subjects, their insertion in popular and universal culture and in the professional guild of which they are a part. The investigated artists, from their autonomy through plastic proposals, make social denunciation and political resistance, not from the Afro ethic, but as citizens who are affected by all forms of discrimination and with the policies that promote the ethno-racial as the only possible way to achieve the empowerment of Afro-descendants.

[EN] Spain's economic recovery in the decades following the post-war period sought to overcome this through national action plans. The agrarian colonisation policies are the last phase of a complex historical project that has bequeathed us 300 colonisation villages. The rich repertoire of contemporary art in mosaics and tiles made by married couples of artists is the subject of research and the result of an updated inventory. Their location and commentary are the result of a method based on cross-referencing sources, based on on-site visits to the villages, which has provided an updated inventory associated with the civic spaces. The results achieved after a stylistic comparative work have revealed unknown authorship, opening up both the discussion on anonymity and the collection of social values embodied in an iconography typical of the National Institute of Colonisation. With all this, the aim is to evaluate the plastic ensemble of an equitable group of seven artists of both sexes, as well as the admission and dispersion of works born of innovation and the hope of progress.

[EN] The machines that produce deepfakes do not need the real world to produce plausible representations. This should produce a veracity crisis of the image. However, institutions such as justice maintain confidence in the image as an epistemological tool. In a social context of deep suspicion about any type of representation, the image is still used to determine what is true and what is false.Since the appearance of deepfake, measures and countermeasures have been taking place, mostly dependent on artificial intelligence, aimed to maintain the images as part of the methods we use to interpret the world. In this article, through different case studies, bibliography and relevant documents on the subject, the different methods of authentication of images as faithful representations of reality are described. These unite the old fake pictures, with the new phenomenon of deepfake. We conclude by questioning whether at present images are a simple reflection of our desire to see what we wish. So all images are an artistic agency. At the same time that we have abandoned completely and handed over to machines our critical capacity for determining truth. In this context, reality is decided by its plausible appearance, but not by its meaning.

[EN] From the semiotic approach carried out by Fiorin (2011) on intertextuality and interdiscursivity in Bakhtin (1989), it is intended to develop the bases of the metalinguistic typology linked to the poetry of Augusto de Campos (Correa, 2018) to provide a more productive reduction in the treatment of types. Thus, the poem "Pluvial" is analyzed to corroborate the hypothesis of an interdiscursive concentration occurred in the poet's concretist period, his orthodox phase (Aguillar, 2005), which would set the guidelines of the theory of concrete poetry, established in the 1950s. The identified concentration would result from a process of concealment of dialogic relations, inherent to every text, to produce an effect of poetic objectivity, characteristic of the geometric abstract art of his time.

[EN] This article presents discussions about the relations of visual studies in the expressions manifested between art and activism and will use as a guide element for analysis the artificial light. Specifically, the propose is to analyze the role of lighting design in express interventions in art, taking asagoaltheinvestigationin the studies of two works made by two visual artists: Marinella Senatore, southern Italy and Santarosa Barreto, from São Paulo, Brazil. It will allow in this study, a comparative analysis of interpretation, in both works exhibited, respectively; at the São Paulo International Art Bienal (2021) and at the São Paulo Art Museum (2018/19), which, in a way, refer to revolutionary and activist characteristics, in their artistic practices that characterize a strong collective and participatory dimension of a cultural social vision. Therefore, the main objective is to use conceptual methodological tools of Design from theory to practice to use Art as a language for breaking down barriers find atthe borders of different cultures. Mirada, poder e imagen.
[EN] Visual hypersaturation governs our world and our way of being in it, modifying the image and associating new connotations with it on the basis of the digital. The transfer of this change of paradigm to the theoretical-artistic field establishes revisions on the ontology of the medium, especially the photographic medium, in the post-digital era, questioning its validity, modifying its uses and providing new paths to explore. Within these questions, emerging artistic practices appear, as is the case of Marta Pujades (Palma, 1992), who reflects on this debate and links it to gender approaches. The result is a work that analyses the power structures within visual culture and the mechanisms of construction of identity images, from which rigid categories in relation to gender and sexuality can be constructed and deconstructed.

[EN] Cultural rights are currently the most relevant legal devices to achieve the political project of access to culture. From the beginning, the patrimonial sense of cultural policies was developing different ways of ordering culture. Thus, instruction and cultural consumption have been the main institutional strategies to promote access to culture for citizens. But today there are other different ways of accessing culture, contained in the contemporary account of cultural rights. The article shows the tension between the passive and active rights for access to culture, and presents a simple intuitive and practical proposal to evaluate it. It is a visual device that in a simple and graphic way helps to locate the different gradients of access to culture. Expanding the classical conception of cultural rights in relation to the institutional idea of access to culture, and contemporary problems for its consolidation.
