[EN] The objective with the protocol described in this paper is to review the existing literature in relation to the implementation of crowdsourcing in educational environments. It seeks to give answer to 4 questions. First, it seeks to answer the question of which kind of crowdsourcing initiatives are more appropriate to be used for educational activities. In second place it’s important to find out whether there is any particular discipline in which crowdsourcing, by its nature, can be applied more naturally. Third, it seeks to identify which factors influence both positively and negatively in the teaching/learning experience using crowdsourcing. Finally, the last question to answer, that implies the mentioned before, is interested in finding out whether crowdsourcing is an appropriate instrument to facilitate the teaching / learning.

[EN] The need of design new layouts or redesign current situation to manufacture new products has increased principally due to changes in customer demand, on both variety aspects and quantity (Lu, Shpitalni, and Gadh, 1999). The complexity increase is also associated with the traffic generated by material handling equipment. This situation can be described as unsafe for workers. Many authors defend that during layout design/redesign a risk analysis is necessary. In contrast others believe that material flow analysis should be a mainly task during this step. Therefore, in this research both considerations have been integrated. So that it is proposed a protocol to evaluate the risk generated by material flow with handling equipment in manufacturing plants. This methodology identify the process steps and propose dimensions, measurables, tools and suggestions in order to analyse and reduce risk correctly. All the above aspects are validated in a case study of a complex assembly plant in the automotive sector.

[EN] In this article we propose a model of innovation competence of people, based on the existing literature to integrate and complement the existing models. The main contribution of this work consists in demonstrating the differences and similarities of current models and in providing a conceptual definition for each model element. In this way, both researchers and people in charge of Human Resources in companies can obtain a framework to design measuring instruments to assess the innovation competence, which can fulfil the twofold demand requirement of validity and reliability.

[EN] Companies, in order to increase their competitiveness in a changing environment, demand innovative people. They must be able to measure the innovative competence of individuals. Universities, meanwhile, are training future professionals and have raised the need to strengthen and work the innovation skills of their students, thus promoting access to employment and in turn increasing the competitiveness of both companies and the society. Through this literature review (27 references), innovation competence in the professional field is addressed by studying how companies detect and measure competence of their workers. Moreover, it analyzes how universities work this competence with their students.

[EN] Construct design and validation is a common practise in the Operations Management field. In this sense, the aim of this study is to present Rasch Measurement Theory (RMT) as richful and useful methodology in order to validate constructs. In order to do so, the measurement controversy in the social science is presented; then, RMT is explained as a solution for this measurement issue; after that, the different applications of RMT are described and, finally, the different stages of the validation process are presented. Thus, this work aims to serve as a guide for those researchers interested in the methodology. Therefore, a specific case is included: the validation of the construct “motivation to implement continuous improvement”.
