Más de cinco siglos de historia(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2001-12-11) Muñoz Cosme, Gaspar; Vidal Lorenzo, Cristina; Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura; Departamento de Composición Arquitectónica; Centro de Investigación en Arquitectura, Patrimonio y Gestion para el desarrollo Sostenible[EN] The analysis of the setting problems of the Angkor towers outlined by Giorgio Croci in the previous article is completed by this introduction to Khmer architecture that illustrates its history and evolution and at the same time describes its relationship with water and the environment, its urbanistic peculiarities, the building solutions adopted and the material features of its temples.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Las torres y su asentamiento. Los casos de la torre de Pisa y de las torres de Angkor(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2001-12-11) Croci, Giorgio[EN] The partial straigtening of the Tower of Pisa affords an opportunity for reflection about the possible interventions and compares it with the case of the Angkor towers. Problems of different types are given solutions in keeping whith the context, the historical and technical peculiarities and the geocultural coordinates in each case.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Consolidación y restauración del muro de Alafia. Castillo de Xivert (Castellón)(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2001-12-11) Hofbauerová, Vera; de Antonio Otal, José Manuel[EN] The consolidation and restoration of Alafia rampart stands out among the different interventions practised on Xivert Castle. It bears a 12th century inscription in Arabic characters, whose exceptional value has been given a painstaking treatment worthy of a miniaturist.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Lugar, memoria y restauración. El cementerio de Castellnou de Bages (Barcelona)(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2001-12-11) González Moreno-Navarro, Antoni[EN] The building of a new cemetery in Castellnou de Bagés on the ruins of the old town rectory is a fresh example of how the SPAL applies rigorous methodology to heritage preservation. The article below explains this methodology and the ideology behind it, which sees the intervention as the triggering of the regeneration process of a historic, urban and social framework. Heritage understood above all as the memory and emotion underlying a community’s identity rather than other more general considerations.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Restauración del Alcázar Omeya de de Ammán (Jordania)(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2001-12-11) Almagro, Antonio[EN] A long excavation campaign has been carried out by a Spanish expedition on the Umeyya fortress at Amman in Jordan, culminating in the consolidation of the archaeological remains and the restoration of the most outstanding buildings, with a view to going beyond strict conservation and a willingness to arouse citizen awareness about the need to preserve the memory of the monuments of our past.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Intervenciones en la Aljafería de Zaragoza(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2001-12-11) Franco Lahoz, Ángel Luis; Pemán Gavín, Mariano[EN] The installation of the Cortes de Aragón in Aljafería Palace culminated a long historic process that made this monumental complex, a mixture of art styles and cultures, into a symbol of Aragón’s identity. The first stage of restoration works that began in 1985 was followed by another more recent intervention, which has been awarded the 2001 Europa Nostra Diploma for restoration. The architects Luis Franco and Mariano Pemán sum up the process below, which they based on a pondered reflection about Íñiguez’s earlier intervention in an attempt to find an answer to the many doubts that came up regarding the refurbishment of the palace.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , El Alcázar de los Velasco, en Medina de Pomar (Burgos) Un espacio aúlico andalusí en el Norte de la vieja Castilla(Universitat Politècnica de València, 2001-12-11) Sobrino González, Miguel[EN] This article reveals the conclusions of the research into a building that, despite its geographic location, has important links with Al- Andalus architectonic culture. On the basis of these findings, the author makes a severe criticism of the recent intervention on this fortress because of its apparent indifference towards the building’s history and character. Loggia staff contacted the person in charge of the works to ask for an article on the project, but we still have not received this text, although we hope to publish it in the next issue of the magazine.Item type: Artículo , Access status: Abierto , Teoría y práctica.
