[EN] The tragic demolition of the church of Santa María de Castellón included the destruction of the statue of the Virgin and Child that presided the tympanum of the north portal. Several fragments rescued by a passer-by at the time have waited over fifty years to come to light and form the basis of an interesting exercise in anastylosis that has restored the reconstructed statue to the temple.

(Universitat Politècnica de València, 1998-04-06) Fernández Naranjo, Juan A.
[EN] The restoration of the portal of the church of San Juan Bautista corresponds to a type of intervention that has a modest budget but an ambitious rigorism as regards the methodology used. The author explains how the works permitted them to discover the information concealed in the Baroque portal, beautifully executed in brick. Specially interesting is the colour restoration.
