Study of the available options in robotic process automation and development of a use case

Abstract

[ES] L'automatització robòtica de processos (RPA, Robotic Process Automation) és una tecnologia que permet reduir la càrrega de treball humà, duent a terme tasques repetitives basades en regles de negoci específiques. Açò es realitza seqüencialment, mitjançant navegació per diferents pantalles així com la integració de diferents tecnologies. L'interés a implementar aquesta tecnologia sorgeix amb la necessitat de digitalització de processos de negoci, així com l'actualització a sistemes autònoms de les tasques més rígides (aquelles que presenten un flux de negoci més definit i la seua presa de decisions requereix una menor subjectivitat) i que aporten menys valor al ser una persona la responsable de la seua realització. Un primer objectiu del projecte és analitzar les diferents tecnologies RPA disponibles en el mercat, trobant les seues característiques claus i realitzant una comparativa sobre la qual es puga prendre una decisió de l'eina a triar segons les capacitats i recursos de l'empresa o individu interessat. Sobre la base de l'anàlisi realitzat, es busca fer un desenvolupament en UiPath, una de les eines líder en el desenvolupament RPA, en el qual puguem recollir informació d'una web de domini públic així com analitzar el cicle de vida d¿un projecte. Durant el projecte es planteja el desenvolupament seguint una metodologia Àgil, que permet aportar la flexibilitat necessària per a aquest tipus de desenvolupament, mantenint al mateix temps la rapidesa en la gestió i entrega.

[EN] Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a technology that allows reducing the human workload, carrying out repetitive tasks based on specific business rules. This is done sequentially, based on navigation through different screens as well as through the integration of different technologies. The interest in implementing this technology arises from the need to digitize business processes, as well as updating the most rigid tasks (those with a more defined business flow and whose decision making requires less subjectivity) and the ones that provide less value when a person is responsible for their implementation. A first objective of the project is to analyze the different RPA technologies available on the market, finding its key characteristics and making a comparison on which a decision can be made on the tool to choose according to the capabilities and resources of the company or interested individual. Based on the analysis carried out, it seeks to develop in UiPath, one of the leader tools in RPA development, a process in which we can collect public information from a domain website as well as analyze the life cycle of a project. During the project, the development will follow an Agile methodology, which allows the necessary flexibility for this type of development, maintaining at the same time the speed in management and delivery.
