El autoaprendizaje como clave para incentivar la motivación y mejorar el rendimiento académico

Abstract

[EN] The present teaching innovation project aims to increase student motivation and improve their academic performance through tasks based on self-learning. This work has been developed in the Nutrition and Food Science seminars that are part of the Nutrition and Food Science subject taught by the Department of Nutrition and Food Science, Toxicology and Legal Medicine at the University of Seville. The target group is made up of 34 students in the fourth year of the pharmacy degree. The students had to select new contents in the subject and work on them independently, but with the help of the teacher. With this work it has been possible to motivate the students and improve their grades. While 35% of students failed in the previous academic year, only 6% did so in the current academic year. On the other hand, the innovation project has been evaluated by the students, obtaining a score of 7.5 out of 10.

[ES] El presente proyecto de innovación docente tiene como objetivo aumentar la motivación del alumnado y mejorar el rendimiento académico del mismo mediante tareas basadas en el autoaprendizaje. Este trabajo se ha desarrollado en los seminarios de Nutrición y Bromatología que forman parte de la asignatura Nutrición y Bromatología que se imparte desde el departamento de Nutrición y Bromatología, Toxicología y Medicina Legal de la Universidad de Sevilla. El grupo destinatario está formado por 34 alumnos de cuarto curso del grado de farmacia. El trabajo consistía en que los alumnos seleccionar nuevos contenidos en la asignatura y que trabajaran sobre ellos de forma autónoma, pero con ayuda del docente. Con este trabajo se ha conseguido motivar al alumnado y mejorar las calificaciones. Mientras que un 35% de los estudiantes suspendieron en el curso académico anterior, solo un 6% lo hizo en el presente curso. Por otro lado, el proyecto de innovación ha sido evaluado por los alumnos, obteniendo una nota de 7,5 sobre 10.
