Torre di Santa Maria dell’Alto, Nardò (LE): studio architettonico per la conoscenza e la conservazione

Abstract

[EN] The paper presents an architectural study of the 16th-century Santa Maria dell'Alto tower in Nardò, Lecce, Italy, one of the main fortifications in the coastal defense system of the lower Ionic Salento against constant attacks from the sea that threatened the inland populations. Through 3D instrumental surveys using an integrated approach of digital photogrammetry and laser scanning techniques, all the metric data were acquired, which in association with historical notes, allowed an organic analysis of the property, preparatory and functional for future recovery and enhancement projects.
