Historical, constructive and pathological analysis of modernist buildings of Szczecin

Abstract

Intercambios Internacionales. Technical University of Szczecin-Politechnika Szczecínska. Polonia. The objective of this project is the restoration of three facades of nineteen century buildings that belongs to the modernist movement. First we make the constructive analysis of the buildings. Afer that we proceed to study the pathologies located in the planes, explaining their characteristics as well as their possible causes. The most common pathologies encountered are: cracks in the lintels, cracks and detachment in cornices, deterioration of the facades' plaster and landslides in cantilevers and bay windows. Finally we are proposed the solution for restoration the pathologies' studied. /El objetivo de este proyecto es la restauración de las fachadas de tres edificios del siglo XIX pertenecientes al movimiento modernista. Para ello en primer lugar realizamos un análisis constructivo del edificio. Tras esto se procede al estudio de las patologías, situándolas gráficamente y explicando sus características además de sus posibles causas. Las patologías más comunes encontradas son: fisuras en los dinteles, fisuras y desprendimientos en cornisas, degradación del enfoscado en la fachada y desprendimientos en voladizos. A continuación , proponemos las soluciones de restauración idóneas para cada patología.
