[EN] This thesis is based in the study of different alternative materials for the cleaning machines drums manufactured at Rotowash company. In the first part of the thesis is studied the different properties of each material (mechanical, chemical¿), structure and technological application with water and the disadvantages for each polymer. The main part of the work includes two possible alternatives. In the second part is explained the wetting phenomena for the materials selected with a mathematic development calculation for the wetting parameters like adhesion force, adhesion energy¿., the influence of the roughness degree in the surface. Finally it is studied the environment aspect, the recycling of the thermoplastics materials and the costs.
