[EN] Advances in research of biopharmaceuticals, such as vaccines and antibiotics, have led to the necessity of their large scale production in an efficient manner, in order to reduce costs and thereby to reach a majority of the population. At this point, biotechnology has a important role with the design of bioreactors for biopharmaceuticals production. In this way, this project aims to design a disposable bioreactor for the manufacture of vaccines. Firstly, an extensive research on bioreactor technology is performed, including types, components and a study on the culture which must be grown inside the bioreactor. Following this investigation, several design alternatives, among which it is selected the most suitable bioreactor for the intended purposes. Subsequent analysis of the final design is also reflected in this report.
