Resumen
In this work a ring resonator (bio)sensor with integrated multichannel spectrometer read-out is simulated, designed, fabricated and characterized. Results confirm the enhancement in the sensitivity of our system with respect to a single ring resonator sensor through an emulation of a shift due to specific biomolecules that attached to the sensor surface. Both theoretical gain as improvement of the LOD are as well presented. Moreover it is compared to other similar devices pointing out its weaknesses and benefits, while practical determinations of the LOD and bio-sensing experiments remain to be performed. Further improvements can be made regarding specific design parameters and the read-out instrumentation system, with the aim of achieving detection of lower concentrations of particles and multiplexed protein detection.
